Come to Hollyburton Farm for a lovely day in the country air a short drive from Melbourne.
Let Madelaine and Colita Scott show you around the wide, open pastures of Hollyburton farm and Madelaine's Eggs learn all the ins and outs of certified organic, truly free range, cattle, sheep pigs and chicken farming. Learn how the girls move the cattle and chickens every second day to fresh pasture, see what Madelaine feeds her chickens and find out how she raises the baby chicks in the farm's orchard. Learn why Madelaine and Colita do things this way and why certified organic is so important.
You will also get to see Madelaine's crowd-funded egg cleaning machine in action and get an inside look at this small but massively labour-saving device.
Meet all the many farm animals that live at Hollyburton. The cattle, sheep, pigs, chickens the herd of milking goats and most importantly the Maremma dogs that guard the chickens every day.
Bring your own picnic lunch or buy a tasty farm-produced lunch of Madelaine's eggs, Hollyburton sausages, homemade goats cheese and wood-fired bread.
Start time is 11am and we will finish around 3pm.
Parking available on site and transport from Clarkefield Train Station will be available on the day.
At the end of the day there will be a chance to buy fresh farm produce, so bring some cash and your eski to keep it fresh!
For kids under 13 entry is FREE so bring the whole family.
